Don’t Forget Our Heroes this Christmas

In Uncategorized on December 1, 2009 at 9:57 am

As we are fast approaching the holidays I wanted to remind everyone that a lot of our troops dont get to make it home for the holidays.  I’m sure we all knew this but I wanted to share a website that offers information on what soldiers need and what you can/can’t send in packages. Anysoldier.com is a great place to find this information.

Another great way to show support for the troops this Christmas is through the American Red Cross’ Holiday Mail for Heroes Program.  This website will give you the address where you can send all cards and what to do and what not to do.

There are things we can all do this Christmas to help show our support and love for the troops!   Remember, they are fighting for your freedom.

God Bless the USA :>

One Chicago man is donating something that is very important to women.  Bras.  According to MSNBC.com, after Ozkr du Soleil was laid off in July 2008 from his financial job, he created a program, Support1000, after he had heard about how many women were not able to afford bras.

He has been receiving bras from intimate companies as well as people who just send in old bras they may not fit into or arent wearing anymore.

Soleil works with non-profit organizations to help distribute the bras as well as social workers.

If you have any bras you’re looking to get rid of you can ship them to:

No, I’m not honoring Shaq for his amazing basketball skills, although he is a pretty good baller, I am highlighting him for his recent gift of charity.  As most of you may have heard on the news in the past couple weeks, Shaniya Davis, a 5-year-old girl was murdered in North Carolina after being abducted and raped.  Her mom was charged with human trafficking after it was uncovered she had been trafficking her own daughter for prostitution.

O’Neal had heard about this child and was moved to pay for the funeral costs to offer this young girl a proper resting place and remembrance.  According to MSNBC.com, more than 2,000 people attended her funeral.

What a great thing for O’Neal to do.  Many famous people are so caught up in their own lives and own wants that they often forget about people who are much less fortunate.
